I'm glad to have the option of DLC with regular free balance patches as opposed to having to buy Street Fighter at least 4 times.Shovel Knight comes with a huge array of tools from his game and puts them all to use in Rivals of Aether. Rivals of Aether will launch for Xbox One via Game Preview on July 13, developer Upcoming Events View all. While OP is complaining about things not being this way, he fails to realize that for fans of arcade fighters, they were actually worse. See stuff like Guilty Gear Xrd, Arcana Heart, Under Night In-birth, and especially Street Fighter prior to digital purchase being a thing. I'm reminded of many Japanese fighters, who rather than having DLC, have to completely re-release a game including any balance changes, new content, etc. Supporting a game is not a bad thing, yet this is the sort of thing OP is trashing the dev team for. At the same time, I can also understand that the DLC was meant to extend the value of the game for people who were already invested. I'm relatively new to the game myself, only owning and playing it for about a month, so I'm not completely divorced from the feeling that the DLC seems expensive. This should alleviate the small roster complaint, but I see both on Steam and here that now people are complaining about the DLC and acting as if they're being cheated out of content rather than content being added. I got Rivals of Aether on Steam, as well as the additional characters DLC. But still, small roster was an issue for people, and thus after some months, the game was supported via adding new characters. Originally created as a Rivals of Aether Workshop character by Sprite Star. Many people would complain about the small cast, though I personally think small casts are a good thing for competition focused games. RoA began with eight characters when it came out of early access. Though I do think this topic brings up an interesting aspect of continued support of a game like this.

Even indie games are doing this shit now, didnt used to be like this
